In a move that has sent shock-waves through international politics, President Donald Trump announced plans for the United States to take over and redevelop the Gaza Strip, transforming it into what he describes as the “Riviera of the Middle East.” The proposal was revealed during Donald Trumps first press conference with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, this Tuesday, February 4th.

In this recent press conference, Trump described is upcoming involvement with the Gaza strip as “Long-term ownership”. While some members of the public our out-crying that this is a form of imperial expansion. However, this expansion is aimed at reconstructing the currently demolished infrastructure into a livable environment for the people in the region. While this reconstruction is taking place, the Palestinian people will be kept in a safe off place site outside of the strip, while its not clear as to where this location will be, updates are likely to come out soon.
