On Thursday an 18 year old boy had been reported to have stolen a car and when being pursued by the police, allegedly opened fired. To which the Cincinnati police responded with reciprocal fire, killing the 18 year old. Online controversy sparked over this issue as the Police body cams are not clear as to wether he ever pointed his weapon or not. yet it is known that he was in fact in possession of a firearm at the time of death. Unsurprisingly outcries of police brutality persist as the victim happened to be within a minority class. There is no evidence of foul play. Video here.

In the video, it’s seen that while the 18 year old fell on the ground a gun becomes visible in his left hand. The officers were unaware of this threat before arriving on the scene. Whether he aimed the weapon at the officers or not, it is very clear that the time from the subject being noticed by the officer and being notified of his possession of a firearm was a simple 6 seconds. The cincinnati police department has in fact labeled this officer’s discharge warranted.

Later, a tragedy occurred where the deputy of this police department was murdered by this boys father. The murderers name is Rodney Hilton Jr., and as of May 13th 2025, he pleas not guilty in all charges. He is being tried for 2 counts of aggravated murder, 1 count of murder, and 2 counts of felonious assault.
